LUKoil 2004 net profit rises 11 pct to 4.1 bln dollars

MOSCOW - LUKoil, Russia's biggest oil company, reported Friday preliminary 2004 full-year net profit rose 11 percent from a year ago, helped by higher crude oil prices and an increase in volumes sold.
Net profit rose to 4.1 billion dollars (3.2 billion euros) last year from 3.7 billion dollars in 2003, the company said in a statement published on the London Stock Exchange website.
Sales climbed 53 percent from a year ago to 33.8 billion dollars, boosted by higher global crude prices and a rise in volume, the company said.
