Prof. Dr. Otkan Awarded By Japan

ANKARA - The Japanese government decided on Thursday to award Prof. Dr. Pulat Otkan of the Ankara University with the ''Order Of The Rising Sun, Gold Rays With Rosette''.
Releasing a statement, the Japanese Embassy in Ankara said that Prof. Dr. Otkan had made valuable contributions to development of education of Japanese language in Turkey.
The Embassy said that Prof. Dr. Otkan, who has been acting as chairman of the Ankara University Department of Japanese Language and Literature since 1985, expended great efforts for establishment of the department.
The award ceremony will take place at the Japanese Embassy on May 31st.
