ISTANBUL - International Monetary Fund (IMF) Managing Director Rodrigo Rato welcomed on Thursday Turkish government's economic efforts.
Rato, who arrived in Turkish commercial hub of Istanbul to attend the Second Investment Advisory Council meeting, met Turkish State Minister Ali Babacan at the airport.
After the meeting, Rato told reporters that IMF was pleased to support Turkey.
Stressing that they would search the ways to increase flow of foreign and domestic capital in Turkey in the Council's meeting, Rato said that economic performances and inflow of direct foreign capital in the first quarter of this year were fairly impressing.
