ANKARA - Turkish Parliament Speaker Bulent Arinc said on Thursday, ''some social injuries in Bosnia-Herzegovina, which experienced the biggest tragedy of this century, need urgent solution.''
Arinc and Sefik Dzaferovic, the Speaker of the House of Representatives of Bosnia-Herzegovina, held a joint press conference after they met each other today in Ankara.
Arinc stressed that Turkey had always supported Bosnia-Herzegovina's sovereignty, territorial integrity and multi-ethnic structure, and said, ''I expressed my pleasure because of the progress Bosnia-Herzegovina has made to integrate itself with Euro-Atlantic organizations.''
REFUGEE AND MINE PROBLEMS
''Some social injuries in Bosnia-Herzegovina, which experienced the biggest tragedy of this century, need urgent solution. More than 300,000 refugees are actually living in camps and mines and economic problems are threatening their lives. We agree that international support is needed to solve these problems. Turkey will sincerely support all initiatives in this regard.''
On the other hand, Dzaferovic said that his country was succeeding in reforms aiming at strengthening all institutions, and expressed his belief that they would be integrated with the EU and NATO's ''Partnership for Peace'' program, in the future.
Drawing attention to mine and refugee problems in his country, Dzaferovic said that extending assistance to Bosnia-Herzegovina regarding these problems was a ''humanitarian duty''.
