BALIKESIR - NATO Tiger Meet 2005 (NTM 05), a military exercise, will start in northwestern city of Balikesir on Friday.
NTM 05 is hosted each year by a member of NATO Tiger Association (NTA) and this year's exercise will be in Turkey from April 29th to May 9th.
The exercise will be hosted by the 192 Fleet of the Turkish Air Forces in Balikesir which has been a member of NTA since 1980. Flights will be held between May 2nd and 6th.
NATO member countries Germany, Belgium, Czech Republic, France, Britain, Poland (observer), Slovakia and Turkey will participate in the exercise. Partnership for Peace (PFP) members Austria and Switzerland will take part in the exercise as observers.
NTM 05 is planned to develop tactical flight operations of participant countries. United air operations will be tried to neutralize hostile air defense and electronic warfare elements.
