Toyota appeal Ralf Schumacher penalty

PARIS - Formula One team Toyota announced Wednesday they will appeal the penalty against Ralf Schumacher for dangerous driving at last weekend's San Marino Grand Prix which pushed the German from eighth to 11th position in the race.
Schumacher, who is fifth overall in the drivers standings, was slapped with a 25-second penalty by the Federation Internationale d'Automobile (FIA) for a dangerous exit from the pit lane, which forced Williams-BMW driver Nick Heidfeld to brake suddenly.
The appeal will be heard at FIA headquarters in Paris on May 3 with the decision expected the following day.
