Cicek: Based On Growth Rates, Exports, Interest Rates, We Can Say That The Turkish Economy Is On The Right Track

ANKARA - Turkish Minister of Justice and Government Spokesman Cemil Cicek has remarked that the macroeconomic goals of his administration has overall met the expectations and that, based on growth rates, exports and interest rates, it is possible to say that the Turkish economy is on the right track.
Cicek expressed that the economic policies in Turkey must continue with determination and without breaks.
''In the past, growth in the economy was possible by public spending and investment. Today, the Turkish economy is growing largely due to private investments by businessmen and businesswomen. The private investments are a symbol of a healthy economy,'' told Cicek.
-ERDOGAN'S LETTER TO ARMENIA
Asked by a journalist if a response came to the Turkish Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan's letter sent to Armenia, Cicek replied that ''so far, no response came from Armenia. U.S. President George Bush indirectly referred to Erdogan's letter in his speech delivered to the American public yesterday (Sunday). We are pleased about this element. We are optimistic that a response will come from Armenia. We can not reach any where by hiding the truth. The truth must be revealed. This is the duty of scientists and historians. As politicians, we can only open the way for further research by historians. We have full confidence and faith in our history. We are absolutely confident about the innocence of our history,'' commented Cicek.
