BRUSSELS - Two Belgian citizens held at the US Guantanamo Bay detention camp in Cuba for suspected Al-Qaeda links returned to Belgium on Monday, RTL-TVI reported.
The two men -- a Belgian of Moroccan origin and another with Turkish roots -- arrived by Belgian military C-130 transport aircraft at the Moelsbroek airbase and were expected to be questioned by judicial police, said the station.
RTL-TVI said Mesut Sen, a dual Belgian-Turkish national was arrested in Pakistan in December 2001, while Moroccan-Belgian dual national Moussa Zemmouri was captured in the southern Afghan city of Kandahar.
The repatriation of the two Belgians comes nearly a month after US officials said they planed to return 38 prisoners it held as "enemy combatants" at its Guantanamo base since 2001 or 2002.
