Cayman Islands-flagged Tanker Runs Aground In Canakkale Strait

CANAKKALE - A Cayman Islands-flagged tanker ran aground in Turkish Canakkale Strait, sources told the A.A on Friday.
The tanker ''Chinook'' of 24 thousand gross tons which was on its way from Ukraine to Genova, run aground in Kilitbahir region, the narrowest place of the Strait, due to engine failure.
The Canakkale Strait was closed to vessel traffic and there was no fuel leaking from the tanker, sources added.
