Turkey's Firm Position On Armenian Claims Important, Erdogan

ANKARA - ''I think we are exaggerating the matter (the Armenian genocide allegations). Our decisiveness and firm position are more important'', Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Thursday.
Erdogan, who returned from Afghanistan to Turkey, commented on the press reports that ''Turkish flag was burnt during a protest of a group of Armenians in Greece'', Erdogan said, ''our Foreign Ministry has contacted the Greek Foreign Ministry, but I will also talk to Greek Prime Minister.''
Asked if he would contact the U.S. administration before the meeting to be held at the U.S. Congress on April 24th on the so-called Armenian genocide allegations, Erdogan said, ''we have taken the necessary steps, and we will also take steps from now on. Necessary contacts are being made.''
Erdogan also said that Armenian President Robert Kocharian had not responded to his letter yet.
