SOFIA - Halil Mutlu of Turkey competing in the 62 kg category became European champion after winning three gold medals in the 84th European Men's Weight-lifting Championships in Bulgarian capital Sofia on Wednesday.
Mutlu lifted 140 kg in snatch, and 167.5 kg in clean and jerk. He reached 307.5 in total, and became European champion.
Sevdalin Angelov of Bulgaria was ranked second and Adrian Jigau of Romania was ranked third in total in the same category.
