JERUSALEM - Israeli Deputy Prime Minister Shimon Peres said that he would meet with Palestinian prime minister Ahmed Qorei on Thursday for talks on the pullout from the Gaza Strip.
"I am going to meet Abu Alaa (Qorei) tomorrow to discuss issues, particularly economic issues, related to our withdrawal," Peres told Israeli public radio on Wednesday.
Palestinian leader Mahmud Abbas has said his government is ready to coordinate with Israel over the evacuation from Gaza and four small settlements in the northern West Bank which is due to begin later this summer.
Qorei and Peres, leader of the centre-left Labour party, also met in secret late last month when talks focused on continuing Israeli settlement activity in the West Bank.
