Bardakoglu: It Is Early To Interpret New Pope's Earlier Remarks About Turkey

ADANA - Ali Bardakoglu, Chief of the Religious Affairs Dept. said on Wednesday that the earlier remarks of the new Pope (Benedict XVI) about Turkey should be evaluated by taking into consideration the fact that his earlier views could have changed.
''The course of life can make people to re-consider things they told in the past,'' said Bardakoglu.
Upon question of A.A correspondent about the earlier statements of the new Pope (who had opposed to Turkey's EU membership), Bardakoglu said that it was early to interpret Pope Benedict XVI's earlier remarks.
''Everything will be fine when some time passes. It is not correct to interpret on his earlier statements as covered by the press and to reach a conclusion about them now,'' Bardakoglu said.
