Tan Says Meeting Of Iraq's Neighboring Countries Postponed For A Short Time

ANKARA - Turkish Foreign Ministry spokesman Namik Tan said on Tuesday that the meeting of Iraq's neighboring countries was postponed only for a short time.
Responding to a question about the meeting, Tan said that meeting of Iraq's neighboring countries which was scheduled to take place in Istanbul on April 19th was postponed for a short time because the works on formation of the government in Iraq have not been concluded and Iraqi Prime Minister Ibrahim al-Jafari also wants to attend and address the meeting.
Tan said that all the concerned countries were informed about the postponement, adding that ''the meeting will take place in accordance with the new schedule to be prepared in coordination with the neighboring countries.''
''The eighth meeting of Iraq's neighboring countries will constitute an important opportunity to confirm the support of regional countries to the political process in Iraq, to review the developments that took place in Iraq after the elections and to exchange views about the future developments,'' Tan added.
