Turkish premier to visit Afghanistan

ANKARA - Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan will go on a two-day visit to Afghanistan starting on Wednesday, an aide said Tuesday.
Erdogan is scheduled to hold talks with President Hamid Karzai and other Afghan officials and visit the Turkish military contingent there, which currently commands the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF), the aide told AFP.
Turkey took over the ISAF command in February for a period of six months, its second stint at the helm of the force following an initial term between June 2002 and February 2003.
