President Sezer Congratulates Talat

ANKARA - Turkish President Ahmet Necdet Sezer sent a message on Monday and congratulated Mehmet Ali Talat for his victory in Sunday's presidential elections in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).
In his message, President Sezer said, ''efforts aiming to find a fair, lasting and comprehensive solution to the Cyprus issue, and to protect independence and freedom of the Turkish Cypriot people should be maintained with the same resolution. Turkey will continue expending all kinds of efforts for prosperity and tranquillity of the TRNC.''
Meanwhile, President Sezer thanked Rauf Denktas, who has been acting as president of the TRNC for the last 22 years and for his services rendered to the Turkish Cypriot people.
