ANKARA - A group of members of the Association for Protection of Nature and Environment (DOGCEV) held a demonstration in front of the Canadian Embassy in Ankara on Saturday to protest killing of seals.
Demonstrators laid a black wreath in front of the embassy building.
Reading out a press release on behalf of the group, DOGCEV Chairperson Behiye Eryilmaz said, ''we harshly condemn decision of the Canadian government to allow hunting of seals. Hunters injure seals with hooks and skin them alive. We will maintain our protests as long as such shameful hunts continue.''
Members of the group dispersed peacefully later.
