ISTANBUL - Turkish gendarmery on Thursday detained three people as they were about to transport 30 kg heroin abroad.
The teams, acting on a tip off, stopped two cars in Beylikduzu township in Istanbul and found 30 kg heroin hidden in one of the cars.
Three people were detained in connection with the incident.
A full investigation into illicit drug trafficking is under way.
