GAZA - Hamas remains calm against Israel but ready to retaliate against any Israeli military action, spokesman Sami Abu Zahri said Tuesday.
"Although the period of calm is about to end," he told reporters, all parties should join in to keep it active before things get out of control.
Abu Zahri said the Islamic movement would discuss the future of its military wing, Izzuddin Al-Qassam brigades, if the Israeli occupation ends.
He called on the Israeli government to release 400 Palestinian prisoners despite Tel Aviv's promises to set them free.
Abu Zahri, however, said the Palestinian Authority (PA) has failed so far to reorganize what he called the Palestinian "home which gives us the impression that it is not serious in honoring its obligations toward the Palestinian factions."
