Israeli-Palestinian Voice of Peace radio takes to airwaves

JERUSALEM - A joint Israeli-Palestinian radio station, the Voice of Peace, took to the airwaves Monday from studios in the heart of occupied east Jerusalem, organisers said.
Programmes would be broadcast in Arabic, Hebrew and English would be broadcast on the station.
"Our programmes will deal with news, entertainment and culture with the aim of promoting the values of peace, solidarity, mutual respect, reconciliation and co-existence," station spokeswoman Mihal Eldar told AFP.
The station was formed a year and a half ago but until now has only been broadcasting on the internet.
