ANKARA - ''Important dimensions which Turkey will add to the EU are beyond any discussion,'' said Turkish State Minister Mehmet Aydin.
''Turkey is a country which can undertake the key role in enlargement and deepening of democracy,'' he added.
Aydin delivered a speech at a meeting on ''Experiences in EU Negotiation Process'' which was held in Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) on Saturday.
''EU is a display of a large experience, vision and a world view,'' he noted.
Aydin said, ''the founders of the EU had started this path with the target of a European continent ruled by peace. It is seen that this target is possible through economic, political and cultural integration.''
''Turkey's young population, strong economic potential, borders, geostrategical location and cultural richness which merges east and west are not problems, but the basic cornerstone of solution,'' he said.
Aydin added, ''Turkey has a rather different experience with the EU than many other countries. The experience and contribution which Turkey has recorded on the path to the EU in last few years cannot be underestimated.''
Meanwhile, former Chief Negotiator of Czech Republic Pavel Telicka said, ''it is hard to set Turkey's EU membership date now. Many factors, especially security and foreign politics developments, will affect this issue.''
''Although there are people who have different views about Turkey within the EU, the decision which was taken about Turkey envisions full membership. Thus, negotiations will be pursued similarly,'' Telicka added.
Telicka said, ''the issue is not completed only in Brussels. Relations with EU member countries are also important.''
''Membership talks is a difficult process which has mainly technical dimension,'' he added.
