RAMALLAH, West Bank - The Israeli army has ordered the seizure of blocs of Palestinian land in two areas of the West Bank for "military use", Palestinian sources said on Friday.
An Israeli army officer delivered a confiscation order covering 120 hectares (300 acres) to the municipal council in Deir Bzeih village, west of Ramallah, local councillor Mohammed Ghanem told AFP.
He said the land was seized for a road to be reserved for Jewish settlers and linking that area to Israel.
Other confiscation orders have been issued to the municipal authorities of two villages in the Bethlehem region, covering one hectare (2.5 acre) blocs, Palestinian sources said.
