PARIS - A Frenchwoman was killed and three other French nationals were wounded in Thursday`s explosion in Cairo, a foreign ministry spokesman said.
"We are able to confirm that a Frenchwoman was killed in the explosion in Cairo this afternoon," the spokesman, Jean-Baptiste Mattei, said in a statement.
"Three of our compatriots are hospitalized. Our embassy and our consulate remain fully mobilized to gather all the necessary information, in liaison with the Egyptian authorities," he said.
Egyptian officials said a US national and a Frenchwoman were killed and 18 others people wounded in what they said was a bomb blast in one of Cairo`s main tourist areas.
