Sezer: Genocide Claims Brought Against Turkey Hurt And Offend Turkish Nation

ISTANBUL - Turkish President Ahmet Necdet Sezer said on Thursday that the claims of so-called Armenian genocide hurt and offended the Turkish nation.
Addressing the War Academies Conference, President Sezer said that Turkey-EU relations had priority in Turkish foreign policy, adding that the entry talks should start on October 3rd.
Noting that the genocide claims speeded up against Turkey in the recent period, Sezer said that people should not give up scientific objectivity while assessing historical events.
Sezer said that one should make researches on history by using documents which are objective and unbiased, adding that Turkish citizens of Armenian origin were indispensable parts of Turkish society who have equal rights and responsibilities in the modern Turkish Republic.
