ANKARA - Recent rise in crude oil prices will not affect Turkish economy, said Turkish Finance Minister Kemal Unakitan.
Unakitan, who received the International Monetary Fund (IMF) delegation headed by Turkey Mission Chief Reza Moghadam today (Wednesday), said that the bill on restructuring of the Incomes Department would be taken up by a parliamentary commission tomorrow (Thursday).
The bill on the incentives was still under discussion, Unakitan stated.
Noting that Turkey was an oil importing country, Unakitan said that the rise in crude oil prices were reflected to fuel oil prices.
Unakitan recalled that oil prices were determined according to supply and demand on the free market as of the beginning of this year, and said, ''the government doesn't fix these prices. Turkish economy has grown, and foreign trade volume has reached 160 million USD. Therefore, there won't be any changes in inflation targets.''
