Talabani's Election As President Is An Expected Decision, Erdogan

ANKARA - Election of Jalal Talabani as the new Iraqi President was an ''expected'' development even though it was a delayed one, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Wednesday.
Answering questions of reporters after attending the ceremony held at Anadolu Agency (A.A) to mark 85th anniversary of its foundation, Erdogan stated that it was now time to elect Iraq's new prime minister.
''After this, the interim administration in Iraq will start to work. We wish that the constitutional works in Iraq will cover all the Iraqi people and eliminate the concerns,'' added Erdogan.
Erdogan said, ''we expect to see an Iraq which has gained territorial integrity among other world nations and where one ethnic or religious group does not have any hegemony on the other/s, all ground and underground resources belong to all Iraqi people and Kirkuk has a special status belonging to all Iraqi people. We wish success to the new administration and we wish to see this result in the possible shortest time.''
