Lufthansa takes on low-cost rivals by slashing one-way fares

FRANKFURT - Seeking to take on low-cost rivals on the domestic German market, flag carrier Lufthansa said Tuesday it was slashing one-way weekend fares on its intra-German routes.
Lufthansa said that one-way tickets would cost around 69 euros (95 dollars) on domestic German flights between Friday and Sunday evening.
Previously, one-way tickets could cost more than return flights. The cheapest return flights within Germany cost 99 euros.
