Turkish prime minister to attend pope's funeral

ANKARA - Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan will lead the Turkish delegation at the funeral of Pope John Paul II, a diplomat said Tuesday.
Erdogan will leave for Rome on a private plane Friday, along with State Minister Mehmet Aydin, a close aide and two lawmakers from his Justice and Development Party, said the diplomat, who asked to remain anonymous.
