SOFIA - A Bulgarian milliner on Monday sent a pair of hats as a wedding gift to Britain's Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles, while a Gypsy couple whose wedding the prince attended wired their best wishes.
Violeta Ilieve designed a big yellow hat of banana straw covered with rose buds for Parker Bowles and a more sober beige-and-brown felt one for the prince, and attached a postcard bearing "wishes for a happy life."
The royal couple are also receiving a telegram from a Bulgarian Gypsy couple whose wedding Prince Charles attended in 1998 during a visit to the southern city of Plovdiv's Rom neighbourhood, the 24 Hours newspaper reported.
"Congratulations on your new bride, dear Prince Charles! We wish you a healthy life and as many children as we have!" the daily quoted Valcho Atanassov's telegram.
Atanassov and his wife Zhivka named their first child Diana, as a tribute to the prince's first wife, the newspaper added.
Prince Charles' office on Monday announced that the wedding would be postponed from Friday to Saturday to allow him to attend the funeral of Pope John Paul II in Rome on Friday.
