BEIJING - Turkish Air Forces Commander Gen. Ibrahim Firtina said on Sunday that Turkey was interested in China's medium-range air defense missiles.
Gen. Firtina, currently visiting China, met Chinese Air Forces Commander Qiao Qingchen in Beijing.
At the meeting, Gen. Firtina expressed readiness to cooperate with China in the field of space, and wanted steps to be make on issues like reconnaissance and launching of satellites.
Chinese Air Forces Commander said they wanted to benefit from Turkey's experiences on maneuvers and equipment.
Gen. Firtina said, ''ways of cooperation are open. We are ready and willing for cooperation,'' and invited Qingchen to Turkey.
Prior to his meeting with Gen. Qingchen, Gen. Firtina met Chinese Chief of General Staff Gen. Liang Guanglie.
Gen. Guanglie said high level contacts between Turkey and China particularly in military area in the recent years laid solid basis for future cooperation.
Visit of Turkish delegation to China will last till April 7th.
