JEDDAH - Turkish Foreign Minister & Deputy Premier Abdullah Gul opened 2nd Turkish Machine and Machine Equipment Fair in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Sunday.
Gul was briefed about the products by officials of 55 Turkish firms which participated in the fair.
Holding a news conference, Gul said, ``both political and economic relations between Turkey and Saudi Arabia are developing.``
``Trade volume between two countries increased in recent years. Turkish contractors pursue various projects in Saudi Arabia,`` he added.
Gul said that Turkey-Saudi Arabia Business Council meeting will be held in Istanbul on May 6th.
Upon a question, Gul said, ``Turkey supports Saudi Arabia`s membership to World Trade Organization.``
In response to a question about Cyprus issue, Gul said, ``Greek Cypriot side showed that it does not want to live together with Turkish Cypriot side with the referendum which was held in Cyprus last year. Turkish side is active for a solution in the island, but Greek Cypriot side does not want this.``
