Bartholomew to attend funeral of Pope John Paul II

ISTANBUL - Fener Greek Orthodox Patriarch Bartholomew will attend funeral of Pope John Paul II, the Patriarchate said on Monday.
The Patriarchate issued a written statement and said the biggest vision of the Pope was the global peace and unity of Christians.
The statement said, ``the Pope left deep traces with his efforts for peace, sensitivity for justice, and bold initiatives throughout his 27-year mission.``
The statement said Patriarch Bartholomew would attend the funeral of Pope.
