Voted in as General Leader of the ANAP Party, Erkan Mumcu, who recently resigned from the ruling AKP Party before transferring to the ANAP delegation, had these sharp words regarding current Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan: "We cannot just obey someone who sees themselves as a sultan....someone full of complexes, and ignorant...."
Parts of other things Mumcu had to say in the one hour conversation follow as:
"If I were to touch them they would crumble"
"The road that we are embarked on now is the road which will carry Turkey to a new political understanding. From now on, it won't be divisive politics but uniting politics. I have promised not to enter into polemics. The area I am concerned about is not the stability of AKP, but of the country. But they are swaying like drunkards, if I were to touch them, they would crumble."
"If you are brave..."
'The Prime Minister is engaging in polemics. Mr. Prime Minister-leave off the polemics, pay attention to your work. Turkey needs work, justice, and love. It is not waiting to be insulted. "Our (AKP) lapel buttons are not for sale" you say-but I ask the Prime Minister from here, if you are brave, give an answer. In order for courage, you need to be right, because those who are in the wrong are afraid."
"Town Crier"
"Now I am asking you, where did party-changing start in this parliament? When MPs transferred from CHP to AKP, were you the town crier or the Prime Minister? My friends and colleagues came here to be engaged in honorable politics. They are not people who will be insulted.
"What Did You Give to Those Who Transferred to AKP?"
"We cannot obey those who see themselves as sultans, those who have complexes, those who are ignorant. The thing you hold in your hand is not a toy, revered Prime Minister. The thing you are holding is stability, and if you play with it, you will be hurt. Prime Minister, please give an answer-what did you give to those who transferred from CHP to AKP? Are you going to say, or should I say?"
