O.I.C. Meeting On Preferential Trade Ends In Antalya

BELEK - The fourth meeting of the Consultation Committee on Preferential Trade held among Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) member countries in southern city of Antalya ended on Saturday.
Delegations from 23 countries attended the meeting which started on March 30th and ended today with the close session.
Responding to questions of journalists about the meeting, a top official from the State Planning Organisation (SPO) Ferruh Tigli said that formation of preferential trade among OIC countries was one of the important projects of Commercial Cooperation of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (COMCEC).
Noting that 14 OIC countries approved the framework agreement on preferential trade which entered into force in 2003, Týglý said that OIC countries attended the meeting of the trade consultation committee in Antalya. The committee discussed the issue of the method of decreasing customs tariffs, he said adding that the protocol prepared at today's meeting would be submitted to the 21st COMCEC meeting to be held in Istanbul between 13th-16th September this year. Tigli stressed that the decrease in customs tariffs among OIC countries aimed to increase and further liberalise the trade and to end non-tariff barriers.
