Atalay: Our Target Is To Broaden Limits Of Freedom Of Communication

ISTANBUL - Turkish State Minister Besir Atalay said on Friday, ''our target is to broaden limits of freedom of communication by forming a modern legal superstructure of high democratic standards.''
A panel discussion on ''Media Regulations in the European Union'' which was organized in association with the Supreme Board of Radio and Television (RTUK) and the Association of TV Broadcasters, has started in Istanbul.
Making opening remarks of the panel discussion, Atalay said, ''our government gives priority to legal arrangements about the press in its democratization process in order to remove anti-democratic laws and implementations overshadowing credit of Turkey in the international community. Our efforts are based on the understanding of a pluralist, democratic, egalitarian, free and more responsible communication world.''
