Turkish Films Festival To Start In Boston

NEW YORK - The Fourth Turkish Film Festival will start in Boston on Friday.
This year's festival pays tribute to the masters of Turkish cinema with the ten best Turkish films of all times.
The ten best Turkish films were determined by a poll by the Ankara Cinema Association, starting with the 1964 production, ''Susuz Yaz (Dry Summer)'' by Metin Erksan which was presented with the Golden Bear Award in the Berlin Film Festival, and leading up to Nuri Bilge Ceylan's award-winning 2003 release, ''Uzak (Distant)''.
The other best films are ''Selvi Boylum Al Yazmalim (The Girl with the Red Scarf)'' by Atif Yilmaz, ''The Bride (Gelin)'' by Omer Lutfi Akad, ''Muhsin Bey (Mr. Muhsin)'' by Yavuz Turgul, ''Umut (Hope)'' by Yilmaz Guney, ''Anayurt Oteli (Motherland Hotel)'' by Omer Kavur, ''Suru (The Herd)'' by Zeki Okten, ''Masumiyet (Innocence)'' by Zeki Demirkubuz and ''Yol (The Road)'' by Serif Goren.
''Insan Nedir ki? (What's a Human Anyway?)'' by Reha Erdem are among the films to be shown during the festival.
American dailies such as Boston Globe and Boston Phoenix showed great interest in the festival.
The festival at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts will end on April 10th.
