Eurochambers Executive Board Meeting To Be Held In Istanbul

ANKARA - The Association of European Chambers of Commerce and Industry (Eurochambers) Executive Board meeting will be held in Istanbul on Friday.
Turkish Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan will deliver a speech at the meeting.
Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) stated on Thursday that the meeting which will be hosted by TOBB will be closed to press. Turkish Industry & Trade Minister Ali Coskun will also attend the meeting.
Christoph Leitl, President of Eurochambers and the Austrian Chamber of Commerce, and Rifat Hisarciklioglu, Eurochambers Executive Board member and TOBB Chairman, will hold a joint news conference after the meeting.
TOBB stated, ''the role of business world and the responsibility which has to be undertaken in development of Turkey-EU relations will further increase when Turkey will start entry talks with the EU.''
''TOBB, to fulfill its responsibility, attaches a special importance to complete its own structuring, present views about settlement of a mechanism that will convey opinions to negotiation process and benefit from broad network of Eurochambers which will be needed frequently during negotiation process,'' stated TOBB.
TOBB reminded that Hisarciklioglu was elected as the member of Executive Board of Eurochambers with the highest vote during Eurochambers General Assembly meeting which was held in Vienna on October 23rd, 2004.
Eurochambers represents 43 countries, 2,000 local chambers, 17 million enterprises and 20 million employment.
