Income Per Capita Increases To 4,172 U.S. Dollars

ANKARA - A record has been broken in national income per capita in Turkey as a result of the economic growth in 2004 and the low foreign exchange levels.
Per Capita GNP which was 3,383 U.S. dollars in 2003 increased to 4,172 U.S. dollars in 2004.
According to the figures announced by Turkish State Institute of Statistics (SIS), Per Capita Gross Domestic Product (GDP) also increased from 3,412 U.S. dollars to 4,187 U.S. dollars.
Therefore per capita GNP increased by 789 U.S. dollars, while per capita GDP increased by 775 U.S. dollars in 2004 when compared to 2003.
