ANKARA - Turkey's growth rate of Gross National Product (GNP) was 9.9 percent in 2004 and its growth rate of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) was 8.9 percent, Turkish State Institute of Statistics (SIS) said on Thursday.
According to figures announced by SIS, the fourth quarter growth rate of GNP increased 6.6 percent in 2004 compared to the same quarter of previous year, and the growth rate of Gross Domestic Product increased 6.3 percent.
Turkey's growth rate of GNP was 5.9 percent, and its growth in GDP was 5.8 percent in 2003.
Turkey broke a record in its GNP and GDP last year. Turkey's GNP was recorded as 299.4 billion USD with current prices last year, while its GDP was 300.5 billion USD.
GNP was 239.2 billion USD, and GDP 241 billion USD in 2003.
