BAGHDAD - A booby-trapped car blast killed seven Iraqis in the northern town of Sameraa on Thursday, police reported.
The police said the explosives laden car, driven by a lone suicide bomber, targetted a police patrol in the center of the town.
The explosion killed seven Iraqis, including four members of the Rapid Deployment Squad and wounded 15 others. Separately, the Iraqi police killed on Thursday an Arab insurgent in Sameraa.
Witnesses affirmed that unknown gunmen, armed with domestically-made weapons and RPGs, attacked this morning an Iraqi police station in the town. The policemen fought back forcing the gunmen to flee, the police said. An Arab gunman was killed in the clash.
