GAZA- The Israeli Army announced Wednesday that its troops arrested last night three Palestinians on charges of smuggling weapons to Gaza.
An army spokesman told Radio Israel that "the three were seen crossing the borders from the Egyptian side to Israeli where they passed through a restricted area before they were detained by army soldiers." He alleged that the three were carrying a sack with 13 rifles and three pistols inside. They were referred to the authorities for questioning.
In a related incident, he said that a fourth Palestinian was also apprehended near Rafah with a sack containing five pistols and several rifles which he received from unidentified persons near the border with Egypt.
