Lawsuit Filed Against 15 People Marketing Bootleg Raki

ISTANBUL - The Chief Prosecutor's Office in Eyup district of Istanbul filed a lawsuit against 15 people on charges of marketing bootleg raki.
A total of 24 people died after drinking bootleg raki, a popular anise-flavored drink in Turkey. Police raided underground distilleries in Istanbul and other cities in March, confiscating thousands of bottles of illegally produced raki, apparently made using methyl alcohol.
