Turkey - Cuba J.E.C. Meeting Held In Ankara

ANKARA - The 6th term meeting of Turkey-Cuba Joint Economic Commission (JEC) was held in Ankara on Tuesday.
Turkish delegation was headed by Turkish Justice Minister Cemil Cicek and Cuban delegation was chaired by Cuban Minister of Foreign Trade Raul de la Nuez Ramirez.
Cicek said, ''there is no political problem between Turkey and Cuba. Political determination is important for development of relations between our two countries, and we have this determination.''
''Despite positive conditions, economic and commercial relations between our two countries are not in desired level. There are facilities to enhance cooperation and develop mutual trade in various areas between economies of our two countries,'' added Cicek.
He noted, ''it is necessary to diversify trade. Bureaucracies of our two countries should speed up mechanisms for more active trade.''
Meanwhile, Cuban Minister Ramirez said, ''economic and commercial relations between Turkey and Cuba do not reflect the actual potential.''
Ramirez invited Turkish businessmen to Havana Fair. He said, ''Cuban institutions in construction, sports, culture, health, science and environment sectors are closely interested in equivalent Turkish institutions to cooperate.''
