Acting Kyrgyz leader says he will stand for president

BISHKEK - Kyrgyzstan's acting leader Kurmanbek Bakiyev said Saturday he would stand as a candidate in the nation's new presidential election set for June.
When asked by reporters whether he would run in the election that parliament earlier set for June 26, Bakiyev replied: "Yes I will."
