ISTANBUL - ''The decision of Republican People's Party (CHP) Disciplinary Board to expel me from the party will be returned by Turkish court,'' said Sisli Mayor Mustafa Sarigul on Friday.
Holding a news conference after the decision of CHP, Sarigul said, ''I will seek my all legal rights. The decision which was taken by junta of CHP leader Deniz Baykal will be returned by the Turkish laws.''
''CHP administration does not express freedom of different thought which is one of the basic elements of democracy today,'' added Sarigul.
Earlier in the day, CHP Disciplinary Board decided to expel Sarigul from the party. The decision was taken unanimously.
Sarigul was expelled from the party in line with CHP regulation's articles on 'offenses of members'.
Sarigul was transferred to CHP Disciplinary Board on November 11th, 2004 upon corruption claims. Expel request was rejected in the meeting of the Board on January 3rd, 2005. Following this decision, an extraordinary congress was held upon call of CHP leader Deniz Baykal and he was re-elected the CHP leader.
