BRUSSELS - Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan met European People's Party (EPP) President Wilfried Martens in Brussels on Tuesday.
Erdogan is currently in Brussels to participate in EPP summit.
EPP Political Bureau last January accepted the participation of Justice & Development Party (AKP) to the group's meetings as observer.
EPP, describing itself as the ''most powerful political group'' (within the EP), assesses the participation of AKP as ''a new step in European policy''.
Erdogan is expected to return to Turkey after holding a press conference this evening (Tuesday) to give information about his contacts.
