ANKARA - ''We do not accept US's blaming Turkey and beyond this the Republican People's Party (CHP), because of the March 1st motion --(refusal by Turkish parliament to let US to open a northern front against Saddam in 2003)-- for its failure in Iraq,'' CHP leader Deniz Baykal said on Tuesday.
Speaking at CHP group meeting, Baykal said ''US Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld stated that resistance continued in Iraq and they failed to reach the targeted success; and connected this to Turkey's refusal to give the United States the permission to enter Iraq from the north''.
Baykal said, ''in other words United States blames Turkey, March 1st motion and CHP for its failure in Iraq. This is unacceptable.''
