WASHINGTON - A senior US Treasury official, John Taylor, has decided to resign and return to the private sector in a move that will leave yet another top position at the department vacant.
The Treasury said in a statement that Taylor, the undersecretary for international affairs, will leave the department at the end of April.
The former economics professor's departure from the Treasury opens another senior vacancy at the department.
Taylor's resignation leaves 12 top jobs at the Treasury vacant, according to the department's website.
Vacant posts include the deputy treasury secretary, deputy chief of staff, the World Bank US executive director, and the international tax counsel.
