LONDON - Frozen chicken nuggets have triumphed against the traditional tin of corned beef in the battle for the hearts, minds and stomachs of the British people.
Chicken nuggets have been added to the basket of goods used to measure the nation's inflation, National Statistics said Monday.
Britons are now more likely to tuck into the poultry-based children's favourite rather than corned beef -- once a staple of British soldiers and schoolchildren.
The nation is meanwhile likely to wash down the popular nuggets with a half-litre bottle of fizzy drink, which has been added also to the inflation basket.
Other notable additions were mobile phones and laptop computers.
