BAGHDAD - A car bomb wounded 10 people on Monday in the centre of Samarra, 125 kilometres (75 miles) north of Baghdad, a medical source said.
The casualties included four women and three children, the source added.
No other details were immediately available.
In Baghdad's western Kadhamiyah area, an Iraqi soldier was killed and three were wounded in a blast on Monday, while a body, with its throat slashed, was found west of the capital, medical and security sources said.
The body of 60-year-old civilian Adnan Abed Jaber was found with its throat cut in al-Annazi, 60 kilometres (35 miles) west of Baghdad, police said.
"The body was wrapped in a sheet, with a note warning (people) not to follow Shiite rituals for the burial," the officer said, on condition of anonymity.
Jaber worked for a state-company attached to Iraq's industry ministry, his brother Walid said.
Separately, the US military announced that Iraqi forces had arrested 10 people who were suspected of planning the March 9th suicide truck bomb against the ministry of agriculture and the neighboring al-Sadeer hotel that killed four people.
